Hey Larry! Great to have you with us. I haven't received any updated documents for posting, but I will let you know if that changes. In the meantime, you (and others) can probably have a gander at the materials from the September meeting. Better yet, give me a second and I'll add a link here.
Board transition overview
The link above is to Ricardo's presentation to the board from the September meeting in Spokane.
The document on your screen is not something that's available on the website yet.
Marshall: Both Secretary Millar and I are very committed to both broadening the roles of CTR and TDM at WSDOT internally and expanding our agency's reach across the state with our external partners in those areas.
Brian: This represents a fundamental, significant, and perhaps unprecedented shift in our agency's policies, leadership, and strategic direction, and I'm looking forward to the role this group will play in helping shape that shift, that change.
By the way, we are a little ahead of schedule on the agenda. We are now onto the next agenda item (and have been for a few minutes): the board transition update.
Now's a great reminder that we need you to mute your phone if you're not speaking and, please, DO NOT put us on hold. Thanks!!
Ricardo: The first meeting of the new board is slated for mid-February. We're about ready to start recruiting for the technical committee. We need folks with both the time and resources that can meet with staff regularly to determine and discuss goals and targets. If you have recommendations for folks that you think would be a good fit for the technical committee, please let me know.
Bryce: Where are with equity representatives on either board? A good group to reach out to is Front and Center (I'll try to find a link). I'll also talk to others at Futurewise to see if we can think of others.
Karen: How are we doing on demographic distribution in order to ensure that we're getting representation from as many areas of the state as possible?
Brian: There are inherent challenges because of the limits we may have to place on membership, but that is certainly something Secretary Millar is considering as we continue the effort to compose the boards.
