Interact live with the board as it moves through today's agenda! All meeting materials are posted on the front page of the site under "2017 MEETING MATERIALS." Please note: there is no Lync/Skype for today's meeting.
First agenda item: the 2017 report to the Legislature, which will be transmitted later today to both transportation committees across the street. Yay!
Getting a few updates from Ricardo and the legislative committee right now. Rep. Steve Hobbs recently indicated that he'd lend his support for additional program funding.
Again folks, I'm very sorry about the phone confusion. Thanks for staying flexible and nimble-- just like the CTR program itself!
By the way, as Brian mentioned earlier, you'll have some great opportunities during today's meeting to engage both with Sec. Millar and during the strategic plan session. In fact, we're counting on your participation!
Is the letter to the leg on the meeting materials page?
I see/have the 4-page CTR Board report to the Leg, but not a "letter" per se.
We're going to schedule a legislative committee meeting soon in order to put the proverbial ducks in a proverbial row. That meeting will be open to all, so we'll let you know when we have it scheduled.
Ricardo: Because the multimodal account seems to consistently be at risk, it might be a good time to consider new ways and means of protecting it.
Brian: To be clear, all funding the Public Transportation (including those for CTR) come out of that account. There are a lot of expectations for it. If we look to expand CTR or other public transportation-related programs, those additional funds will come out of the multimodal account.
Hi Larry --- The letters are not on the website. We just got them signed this morning. I don't know whether we'll post them or not.
Brian: At WSDOT, our regional administrators now understand the importance of CTR and TDM as part of our project planning process. Their supports represents the departmental progress we've been working toward for a very long time.
