Brian: transit is sort of like the canary in the coal mine for some businesses. If transit is strong and supported locally by its community, businesses will consider locating there. If it's not supported, businesses won't even consider it.

Hi Page, yes- how profound is that? Kind of says it all, don't you think?

We keep pushing "alternative transportation" as a mitigation for congestion, but transit is not supported by the state.  Another "unfunded mandate" that our locals are expected to pick up.

Matt: I strongly recommend adding a picture or a graph, something more visual. Anything that lend more perspective.

Great point, Page- and therein lies the rub.

I like the stats on the cover . . . but I agree we need more visuals to accompany the text

The hope is that the one-pager will address the concerns thus expressed about the report.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has heard reference to "budget dust"

Comment by Page Scott on September 27, 2013 at 11:06am

Regrettably, we get that only related to capital projects . . .

Ted: we've seen steady returns on minimal investments for 20 years. It's sort of, "Look, here's what we've produced with such a nominal investment. Think of what we COULD do with just this much more."
